Back To My Mac

A VERY cool new feature that can alert the examiner to other "links" to the perpetrator's digital world. Back To My Mac allows a user to connect to their registered Macintoshes via File Sharing and Screen sharing. A user can connect over their local area network or over the internet! Without Back To My Mac enabled, File Sharing and Screen Sharing function only on the local area network.

For the user ID used with .Mac sync, open

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

and locate the Root:System:Network:BackToMyMac Key and you will have a value that looks something like

username.members.mac.com (I recommend targeting the .Mac account now too)
